“Fear of Not Flying” is a kind of promotional event for the book of the same name by Borislav Raičević, an aviation engineer, which is a collection of flying experiences.
The first initial part of the happening, “the decision to travel,” takes place in the Student Center (SC). It begins with a video piece titled “White Shirt” in the Amphitheater, after which the same performers continue the story from the video; the event then moves to the SC hallway, where a performance is staged inside an installed setup.
The second part of the happening, “Awaiting the Journey,” is a performance in buses. In three buses that transported the audience to Surčin, original music by Miša Savić—specially composed for the first, second, and third bus—was played. In each bus, MIMART performed a piece.
The third part, “Flying,” took place at the Aviation Museum at Surčin Airport. This is the main part of the happening, in which, among the airplanes, a story unfolded about our fear of not flying, about the embargo, about transportation, about Icarus’s fall…
