Synopsis

In 2000, the Ister Theatre premiered the play Desert, which dealt with internal questioning, with the Jews as spiritual beings, after the dark period of our history and the harsh reality that surrounded us. After everything we had experienced, we asked - what are we, who are we, where are we and where are we going? Desert 2010 represented Desert 2000, which is an ideological stronghold and inspiration for the creation of new plays. Desert 2010 asks the same questions and deals with the same topics, 10 years later, in order to probably get the same answers. What are we, who are we and where are we today, ten years later. Has anything changed? Have we changed? The contemporary moment in which we live is the main inspiration for our reaction to life in this time and in these places.

The desert is a place of encounter with ourselves. Those who move through the desert constantly talk to themselves or join other Jews about the secrets of life and life's values. In the desert, answers are sought to their own secrets and doubts, which are fatefully elusive and made of contradictions and harmony at the same time. The desert is like the ocean, a place where nothing ever changes. Do we become an endless ocean that does not move, does not breathe, whose heart has no home, an ocean without life that flows like grains of sand from an hourglass of time. Just as we are, we may or may not be, we remain as an apparition on the horizon of tired travelers.
