The Association of Ballet Artists of Serbia is a voluntary, non-governmental and non-profit professional association that gathers dancers, choreographers, pedagogues, repeaters, critics and theoreticians of ballet and contemporary dance orientation in order to achieve common goals in the field of development and improvement of ballet art and artistic dance in the broadest sense, as well as other common interests. As part of regular annual projects, UBUS organizes the Festival of Choreographic Miniatures and awards the most prestigious awards in the field of artistic dance - the "Dimitrije Parlić", "Nataša Bošković", "Smiljana Mandukić" and the Lifetime Achievement Award. The association also realizes projects in the field of publishing, organizes forums, workshops and meetings with eminent artists. In order to preserve the memory of great creators in the field of ballet and dance, several memorials were erected. The Association of Ballet Artists of Serbia, in the field of protection of the rights and interests of its members, advocates for solving the problem of retirement of ballet artists, issues in the field of copyright and interpretation rights, and payment of contributions and health insurance to independent artists. UBUS participates in the work of the Coordinating Board of Serbian Art Associations, where, together with other art associations, it is involved in drafting proposals for various legal solutions and launching numerous initiatives to improve the status of artists in general. UBUS, as a trusted business under the Law on Culture, determines the status and keeps records of independent artists. He is one of the founders of the Organization for the Collective Exercise of Interpreters' Rights PI and the founder of the Foundation of the Association of Ballet Artists of Serbia. In addition to these activities, the association realizes a number of other projects aimed at the affirmation, presentation, promotion and protection of the interests of the artists it represents. The Association of Ballet Artists of Serbia, in accordance with the Law on Culture, is the only representative association in the field of ballet and dance in Serbia. In 2026, the Association of Ballet Artists of Serbia celebrates its 64th anniversary.
