The Ballet School in Novi Sad is an educational institution founded way back in 1947. Decades of experience in education, professional staff and excellent working conditions ensure the training of exceptional players. Our team consists of teachers of acting subjects, teachers of theory of play and music theory, accompanying teachers and teachers of general education subjects.

In 1947, a ballet department was established as part of the drama studio at the Vojvodina National Theater, and in 1948, a 6-year high school of ballet.

It was founded and its first teachers were Margarita Debeljak and Milena Popović-Čutuković. The work of the school and the curricula still work according to a very similar system. The orientation was classical ballet based on the foundations of the Russian pedagogue A. Vaganova.

In 1950, the school merged with the Theater School into the State Theater School in Novi Sad (December 30, 1950) with two departments - drama and ballet. The length of schooling is increased from 6 to 8.

In 1959, the acting department ceased to exist, and in 1964 the school changed its name to the Theater School in Novi Sad. It was not until 1979 that the school received its current name Ballet School in Novi Sad.

In the meantime, she moved from the then Jewish school in 1950 to Katolicka Port to the building of today's Cultural Center. The need for a larger space due to the increased number of students necessitated a new move, this time to the premises of today's Novi Sad Theater. It will remain there until 1984, when it finally moves to a suitable space in the remodeled and renovated building from which it started its long journey towards the future. The first branch of the primary ballet school was opened in Kikinda in 2002. In 2003, the department for contemporary dance was founded in the ballet school, and a year later, the department for folk dance.

1981. The musical youth of Novi Sad awards a diploma to the Ballet School for dedicated efforts and outstanding results achieved in the work of music and general youth culture.
The Medical Secondary Military School acknowledges long-term cooperation in the field of culture and entertainment. In 1989, the city of Novi Sad awarded the Ballet School the October Award for its work.
