The Belgrade Play Theater was founded with the intention of nurturing contemporary ballet expression in combination with a variety of other media. All members of this acting troupe graduated from the "Lujo Davičo" High School of Ballet in Belgrade, while Andrej Maričić was a member of the acting ensemble at the National Theater in Belgrade. The artistic director and choreographer of this ensemble was Katarina Stojkov Slijepčević, a long-time pedagogue of contemporary ballet at the ballet school "Lujo Davičo" and choreographer of numerous choreographic miniatures and three performances: "Paradise Lost", "Carnival of Madness" and "Circle of Cactus".
