Željka Sančanin (1979 - 2023) was a co-founder, choreographer and performer k.o. combined operations. In 2001, she co-founded and was a member of the excene coordination team. She trained in dance in the workshop of Milana Broš, in excena, the ZeKaeM School, Liberdance and in numerous workshops of local and foreign names such as Helge Musial, Hajashi Hideki, Tamara Huilmand, Boris Charmatz, Martin Nachbar, Alice Chauchat and as part of ex.e.r.ce / 6M1L -- Center choregraphique national de Montpellier. During 2004/2005 she was invited to the project HWE -- HardCore Workshop Exchange / Dance Balkan Nordic region initiated by NordScen Nordic Center for Performing Arts.
She was a Theorem scholarship holder for the international symposium on performing arts Transformes, Le Centre national de la danse Paris and artist-in-residence in the Berliner Künstlerprogramm des DAAD in the context of the Theorem project Dance Residencies, Podewil Berlin 2006. In addition to being the author of combined operations, her collaborative work includes collaborations with Ivan Müller, Oliver Frljić, Bad.Co, Branko Brezovac, Damir Gamulin, Xavier Le Roy, Marten Spangberg, Boris Charmatz. She graduated from the Faculty of Philosophy in Zagreb, Department of Comparative Literature and Department of Art History. She was a member of the Croatian Community of Independent Artists and the Working Group for the Urgent Development of Strategies for the Development, Financing, Presentation and Distribution of Contemporary Dance Art in the City of Zagreb at the UPUH -- Association of Croatian Dance Artists.
