The interactive approach of the project Chance-Dance requires the development of a real-time system that can record the dancer's movements and translate them into a series of numbers on a computer. Those numbers will be mapped to a series of parameters that can change multiple characteristics of the music or create parts of the composition itself at a given moment.
Specifically for the project we use this technology and create a modern, innovative performance that represents the creation of sound / music / story through the body of the dancers. The idea is to present how through kinect sensors we can produce sound with the movement of the body, to create a composition of sounds. This connection of new technology and these three types of audio-visual interpretations opens new possibilities in creating a contemporary dance-music work.
