When a theater and acting project started in our area continues with success, it is, without a doubt, encouraging. Therefore, we should welcome the realized intentions of the authors of the project Korak dalje Bojana Mladenović and Dušan Murić, who started this multi-year event in the field of contemporary dance and performing arts in Belef (summer 2003) with the play Island, further developed and prepared a new international meeting in which Europe is a proposition and the Balkans is a predisposition. Gathering very good contemporary performers: male and female dancers from Bulgaria, Croatia, Slovenia, Macedonia, Austria, the Netherlands and SC, they achieved an exchange of dance energy that took the expected step further.
The backbone of all dramaturgically well-placed stage scenes, along with Unexpected Force That Appears Suddenly and Solves the Matter, i.e. the strong and very stimulating live music of this band, was the dance movement and much less verbal statements that in a certain way burdened the previous performance The Island. Given that mutual communication is the basic framework of the project Korak dalje, it was presented in a choreographically fluid language that was designed to express itself by confronting differences and searching for similarities between performers - individuals. And they knew how to build on the basic theme of the play: consumer dance, derived from the peculiarities of consumer society, both with very receptive wit and stylistic variety, which in its versatility belongs to the present time.
