BOJANA MLADENOVIĆ is the artistic director of SNDO - School for New Dance Development, a study for contemporary choreography at the Academy of Theater and Dance/Amsterdam University of the Arts. She graduated from DasArts (now DAS Theatre), postgraduate studies for contemporary performing arts in Amsterdam after which her works were produced at the Frascati theater and presented at the Something Raw festival, Beursschouwburg in Brussels and Xing in Bologna. From 2010 to 2014, she was the artistic director of Het Veem Theater, where she supported the works of a new generation of creators in the field of choreography, performance and other types of experimental performing arts. She was born in Belgrade, where she lived and worked as a choreographer, performer and was one of the founders of the Station - Service for contemporary dance, Nomad Dance Academy and Second Scene until moving to Amsterdam. Bojana is a two-time laureate of the Festival of Choreographic Miniatures in Belgrade, and her choreographies have been performed at the National Theatre, KPGT, Bitef Theater and Duško Radović Small Theatre. Bojana's work found its solid foundations within the Belgrade independent dance scene - a fact that Bojana wears as a badge of pride - and she considers it alarming and irresponsible that this scene, twenty years later, is not structurally supported by state and local bodies responsible for the distribution of resources for art and culture in Belgrade.
