The group "Hajde da..." in co-production with the Cultural Centers "Rex" and "Magacin" realizes the play AFANISIS OR ABOUT CROSSDRESSING, the premiere of which is scheduled for June 5 at the Cultural Center "Rex" (Jevrejska 16, Belgrade), starting at 8 p.m.
The play deals with transvestism and sets the phenomenon of cross-dressing in a political and party context. While he sees transvestism as subversive, he points to political cross-dressing (political vestitism) as a practice whose function is to ensure that changes never occur. Many figures from the fields of culture and politics (from the international and domestic scene) appear and interact in the play, which opens up various domestic political issues, as well as the question of the use of various social groups (eg fans or right-wing organizations) in maintaining the power structure. Therefore, it is not strange for this play that fans and politicians wear high-heeled shoes, doctors change gender just like patients, the authors of the play themselves protest from the position of the audience, and the audience is invited to actively participate on stage.
The performance is a hybrid of dramatic, dance, physical and documentary theater. Actors and dancers change up to thirty costumes and "pass" through several centuries.
