The project "SILENCE" is dedicated to our colleague Stojan Simić, as the first professional contemporary dancer in Serbia who is deaf. The project involves a large number of artists and collaborators who work individually with Stojan (Jovana Rakić Kiselčić, Marko Pejović, Boris Čakširan, Nataša Šmelc, Boris Novači Bojić, Jelena Stojiljković, Aleksandra Đokić, Vera Jovanović, Ivana Bćko, Vesna Nestorović Coka and Bojana Mišić).
The relationship of society towards an individual, which is reflected in a work that is available to the public, clearly defines the attitude of society as a policy of relations towards a person (as his essential factor). If that individual is a member of a minority population, if his everyday life is made difficult by that fact, then it is very important to place this relationship between society and the individual in the public discourse.
The part of the project that we are opening to the public is only the first phase of this project and represents a fragment of a larger and more complex picture that does not have a final form. Namely, at this moment we are "closed" in space, "talking" with our own thoughts, asking questions, but also leaving space for communication and interaction...
Come!
