Synopsis

“Nothing Can Go Wrong” is a solo dance performance that explores human fears in the context of contemporary society, as well as the human need to secure every aspect of life, which leads to increasing self-isolation. In the attempt to rationalize existence and protect it from potential dangers, the individual becomes overwhelmed by irrational fears that are no longer tied to death itself, but increasingly identify the other as the source of that danger.

“The performance was created in 2018, and at the time I was more concerned with fears related to the measures introduced in America after September 11, 2001, which have remained in place to this day. In fact, it was about that instilling of fear that then makes individuals isolated. Just like today — we are not afraid of the virus, but of the other. We fail to understand that the other is not the danger. I think it is incredibly important to recognize that the other is not the enemy. We all share a common enemy, and only by taking care of one another can we overcome it.”
