Educational and artistic projects of POD Theater are based on the idea that theater and art can be an important tool in education, community development and social change. Through work with children, youth, schools and intergenerational groups, POD Theater develops programs that encourage communication, teamwork, creativity, self-confidence, environmental awareness and violence prevention.
These projects include work with preschool children, primary and secondary schools, as well as programs that connect older and younger participants. Through theater workshops, performances, festivals, exhibitions, excursions and participatory processes, participants have the opportunity to develop their artistic, social and communication skills.
Of particular importance are projects such as the Community Theatre: Old and Young, which connects pensioners and young people through joint artistic work, and Drama in education at the Third Belgrade High School, where students practice a foreign language, cooperation and teamwork through theater. The projects at the Railway School Students' Home were aimed at developing the self-confidence, creativity and communication skills of high school students who live outside of Belgrade.
POD Theater also realized ecological and artistic workshops in preschool institutions, in cooperation with the Municipality of Savski venac, through which children learned about ecology through art, play and joint creation. An important part of their work is violence prevention projects in primary and secondary schools, through interactive plays and films that open up space for conversation, understanding and empowerment of young people.
As a whole, the educational projects of POD Theater show how the theater can function as a pedagogical, social and participatory space. Their work connects art, education, ecology, violence prevention and community, with a special emphasis on the active participation of children, young people and the elderly.
