Lokomotiva - Centre for New Initiative in Arts and Culture was founded in 2003 in Skopje as a platform for education, reflection, production, curation and research for contemporary arts and culture. Lokomotiva developed and implemented diverse culture and art projects, in different media and formats, and continuously is working on developing the capacities and working conditions for artists and cultural workers, with focus on contemporary performing arts. Yet, understands culture as extended field, co-related with society, and art as postdiscipline field that extends the forms of expression, production and dissemination. Organization is co-founder of diverse initiatives, associations and networks, among which JADRO- Association of the independent culture scene in Macedonia, Nomad Dance Academy, regional network, where actively works on development on contemporary dance and performance in the region and Kino Kultura – project space for contemporary art and culture (2015-2020) which was dedicated priorly to enabling working conditions for independent contemporary performing arts in the country.
