Mockumentary (2025)
Mockumentary is an unsettling mirror held up to Macedonian society, one that reflects not only the visible structures of state violence but also the more insidious elements of public numbness, complicity, and fear. It is not a work that seeks to provide comfort or resolution. On the contrary, it resists catharsis, refusing emotional release or narrative closure. The discomfort is intentional.
As a woman and a performer, I confront these roles not by embodying them, but by disrupting them. I expose the mechanisms of repression not through grand declarations, but through carefully fractured storytelling.
In Mockumentary, the storytelling is nonlinear and deliberately disjointed. These are not broken pieces to be put back together, they are the evidence of systems designed to fragment, silence, and control. There are no grand gestures, no clear heroes or villains. Instead, I expose the subtle mechanisms of repression—the everyday gestures, the silences, the complicity we learn to accept. And as we in the Balkans often say with bitter resignation: “Nothing changes here”.
