Synopsis

For the libretto, Gradiški drew upon the extraordinary life and artistic legacy of the brilliant W. A. Mozart, developing his biography into a series of dramatic scenes and shaping it into a fully realized theatrical concept. Her carefully selected excerpts from Mozart’s magnificent musical oeuvre enabled her to create a highly engaging choreography that seamlessly combines and stylizes elements of historical dance with modern movements characteristic of neoclassical ballet.

Through this subtly contemporary choreographic language, imbued with elegance, expressive plasticity, and refined sensitivity, Gradiški masterfully shapes each choreographic sequence of the production. The characters are dressed in exquisite period-inspired yet contemporary costumes designed by the acclaimed Elena Dončeva, successfully transporting the Rococo era into the twentieth century. In doing so, the story of the life and work of the great classical master and realist reaches contemporary audiences with remarkable clarity, immediacy, and emotional resonance.
